Sports writer Harry King of the Arkansas News Bureau discusses the surrounding circumstances of Mitch Mustain’s recruiting trials and the other important stories featured in Voigt’s Year of the Dog. In his article “Book Offers Insight on Season and Recruiting,” King defends Year of the Dog and claims that it ”is about much more than Mustain and mother Beck Campbell vs. Nutt and Weis and others who tried to sign the No. 1 high school quarterback in the country.”
